Festivals Of Vietnam

The biggest and most inportant festival in Vietnam is Tet, the New Year's celebration lasting several days between the end of January and mid-February, pursuant to the lunar calendar. During this time, families reunite and commemorate their ancestors. Another significant festivity is Buddha�s birthday, taking place on the eighth day of the fourth month. Then, the temple statues are soused with holy water. An important public holiday is Reunification Day on April 30. Children acclaim mid-autumn with lanterns and filled moon cakes (15th day of the eighth month).
