Ho Chi Minh City is commonly known as Sai Gon or by the abbreviation HCMC. Although it is not the capital of Viet Nam, it is the largest city in Viet Nam and it was the capital of the former Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam).

A city so alive everywhere you look - - - probably the place where you see the most motorbikes. Traffic is a bit discouraging at first, but as long as you know how to get around, you could easily keep up with schedule. The city is the perfect mix of modern cafes and centuries-old cultural sites. Indeed, the whole place is huge and it comes with all the noise and hassles of a typical urban setting, but whatever magic Sai Gon has that makes people feel so at home in it, you would only understand the moment you set foot on this amazing place.

My birth city...I wouldn't live there again but it's now a city of mopeds, great food, awesome entertainment if you know how to find it, and the city never sleeps. Make your first stop here and head out to the rest of the country.
