A man-made lake but exuding with natural beauty with its spectacular display of the sun, sky and wind, it could very well pass off as a work of nature.

Tri An Lake has an area of 323 square kilometres. It was built big because it has the purpose of storing water for the Tri An Power Plant in the province. But it also has an abundance of fish and quiet that any person will find relaxing, even therapeutic. It has dykes and dams ideal for camping and picnics which visitors will surely enjoy. But its best features are its two islands, Dong Truong and O, which emanate beauty and serenity like no other.

Both islands are situated at Vinh An Town, Vinh Cuu District, Dong Nai Province. Dong Truong Island is 22 hectares big while O Island has an area of 2.1 hectares. For those who are looking for an escape from city life, these islands are the perfect destination because they have a picnic and campfire area suitable for both a relaxing and fun time. It has a breathtaking view of the mountains located at Nam Cat Tien National Park. The “Rocky Stream” is a lovely sight of rocks and stones which create several ponds that are a thing of pure beauty and calmness.

For those who want to stay overnight, a boat is available for hire where visitors sleep for the night. The experience of sleeping on a boat under the moon and stars and swaying over the placid lake is an amazing, unforgettable feeling that one will surely hold dear for the rest of his or her life.

Since the place is generally unknown and undeveloped, guests have to bring their own supplies like food, water and other necessities. But for the adventure-seekers, fish is abundant in the area and they can catch some or ask the locals to do so and have it cooked for them. Ca Lang or Hemibagrus fish is the specialty fish of the lake which may weigh several kilograms and can be prepared in several ways: sour soup; crispy fried, grilled with salt and chilli; and hotpot. Whatever dish you choose, along with all the majestic sights and simple yet fun activities at Tri An Lake, it will undoubtedly create a lasting mark of the place that you will want to come back to.
