Hoi An: Colorful lanterns, silk dresses and beach

d

In the picturesque craft city Hoi An you can delight in a sea of colorful lanterns. The relics from the era of Chinese rule are hanging everywhere: On trees, on the bridge over the Thu Bon River, in front of shops, in the streets. Hoi An shines in a colorful sea of lights every night. In the streets leading up to the river countless factories are located. Whether ceramics, wooden toys, miniature vessels, bags and clothes – Hoi An makes the tourist’s heart beat faster. Especially who wants a dress or a suit of pure silk to be tailored for a reasonable price, this is the perfect place! I bought a tailor-made green silk dress for 23 dollars at My My in the Le Loi street. The matching silk tie for the loved ones I got for 5 USD. When I was in Hoi An, there was a festival and all hotels in town were booked out (at least the ones I could afford). So the nice tailor brought my dress to my hotel in Da Nang the next morning. Without extra charge. Another highlight in Hoi An was the beach. Valentin and I have rented a Xe Om and we raced the 4 km to the beach. It was a bit windy, but with cocktails and coconuts it was really nice and a welcome break from sightseeing. Translated by Caterina [nggallery id=5]
