Short Tet Afterthought and outlook

d

Year of the Cat The weather god still seems to like us. Just in time for the Year of the Cat we had springtime temperatures in Hanoi. Today was the first day in 2011 with over 25 degrees. Finally you can open the window again and sit a little longer on the terrace to smoke. In this video you can see the colorful flower markets in Hanoi on the last day of the Year of the Tiger. At the end, there’s the amazingly illuminated Hoan Kiem Lake. I thank my regular reader Yeuem for the link he posted in a comment yesterday. In the upcoming weeks I certainly won’t come to write a daily blog post. I have to focus on my final thesis for the university. Right now, I’m collecting and sorting content. Therefore, I’ll mainly be in libraries and archives next week. I want the thesis to be finished until I move in late April or early May. If I make fast progress with my work, I will fly in mid-April for a few days to Vientiane for Lao’s New Year’s Celebration. A former fellow student from Laos has invited me to his home long time ago. To celebrate my graduation in July, I want to surprise my girls with a short trip. I’ll invite Phuong, Thao, Lan and Sopheak to this trip. We will go for four or five days to the small Sultanate of Brunei. Air Asia offers pretty cheap flights from Hanoi via Kuala Lumpur to Brunei.
