Danang City On The Road to Technological Modernization and Intelligence Through Microsoft Cloud System

Danang City's vision is to create an “intelligent, worth living place.” In order to achieve this, it has adopted and implemented an IT system in its commune and district level of administrative reform. In the several years that the program was established, it is bringing Danang closer to its goal.
Danang's data center is considered the platform that will launch an “e-government deployment” in the city by implementing Microsoft's cloud data center solution open platform as the main system to be used which includes Windows Server 2012 R2, System Centre 2012 R2 and Data Center 2012. The program has been successful so far.
Microsoft's open platform differs from the current system in that the latter requires replacement while the former can interact and integrate with the present technical infrastructure in Danang without any glitch. Applications such as Java and PHP can function error-free and is user-friendly. Windows Server and Sysem Center 2012 R2 in particular are among the compatible systems with open source software. The following systems can change from a traditional physical model into a cloud model in which all IT resources are bundled up into specific services and uploaded into the Danang Department of Information and Communications. This guarantees availability, high-speed, flexibility and efficiency in delivering public service such as sending information; processing and analysis; and on-time reporting. Other advantages of Microsoft's cloud platform solution are that it eliminates interruptions; enables smooth and high-quality service; its system is diverse so that it can cater to all types of customer needs; and it has a wider range of client service. Moreover, it costs less compared to the other networks.
Presently, Microsoft has launched CityNext, a “global initiative to empower municipalities, businesses and citizens to build and develop more dynamic future communities.” Perhaps more than the first program, this is expected to bring even more positively revolutionary changes to the government of Danang through a similar but more advanced cloud system. If successful, this will empower the employees and the system as a whole by providing up-to-date application, top-of-the-line equipment and overall efficiency in providing public service.
If everything goes smoothly, Danang will be the first to complete IT application into its government reform with a long-term goal of achieving a highly urbanized and intelligent community.
