Hanoi’s Walking Streets To Be Expanded To Honor Traditional Cuisine

${bigcity_Hanoi:"Hanoi"} will expand its walking streets to promote its specialty and traditional cuisine. This statement is according to the project’s investor itself, Dong Xuan Joint Stock Company. Do Xuan Thuy, CEO of Dong Xuan Company, specified that the walking streets in Hanoi to be expanded included streets in the center of old quarter, the current night market, and the walking streets in Hang Dao and  Dong Xuan.

The expansion of the current walking streets will cover the area surrounding Sword Lake, Hang Buon - Ma May- Hang Giay - Luong Ngoc Quyen - Ta Hien- Dao Duy Tu. Most of these constructions are as old as the 18th century and can be considered to be historical structures.

When the new walking street will be done and opened, it will create a refreshing and one-of-a-kind compound which feature historic sites, Bach Ma and Quan De Temples, and the old house at 87 Ma May. The new area will be much more attractive and distinguished-looking than the old one.

These streets were specifically targeted because of their “unique, diverse traditional cuisine” from both Vietnamese and Chinese-Vietnamese cooking. This project will greatly improve the restaurants and shops’ facilities and amenities, and strongly advertise their products and services to help attract more visitors and establish a steady group of patrons.

Walking streets in Hanoi are very particularly popular tourist spots in the area. Eight years ago, these and the night market used to open three days a week to cater to and entertain visitors. But because of the increasing number of tourists lately, both local and foreign, the streets have become overcrowded and even dirty. Thus, the implementation of such project to better the place and service to satisfy the needs and wants of Hanoi’s growing visitors from all over the world.
