International Photo Exhibition Held to Celebrate Hung Kings Temple Festival

In celebration of Hung Kings Temple Festival, the Vietnam Association of Artists (VAPA) is holding an international photo exhibition featuring selected photos from different photographers and countries all over the world. In a photo contest held last October, a total of 11,000 entries joined the competition. Of these, only 542 pictures were selected taken by 354 photographers from 38 countries and territories around the world. The winner photos are the ones displayed at the exhibition to be held at Hung Kings Museum in Viet Tri City in the northern province of Phu Tho. This is also the first time that the photos are open to the public since the competition ended.

The theme of the photo competition is culture, landscape and other tourism potential that will attract tourists to visit Phu Tho especially during the festival. It was the idea of the local authorities to display the photos as part of the cultural activity of Hung Kings Temple Festival, much to the delight of VAPA Chairman Vu Quoc Khanh.

Aside from the photo exhibition itself, the event is also a social venue for local Vietnamese and foreign artists to exchange ideas and share experiences. Moreover, literature and arts associations from Phu Tho, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Thua-Thien ${bigcity_Hue:"Hue"} and ${bigcity_Hanoi:"Hanoi"} also showcased a number of publications featuring Vietnamese culture and traditions.

The photos will be on display until next Monday.
