Online Poll Lists Vietnamese Hotel and Resort as No.1 in Asia

After 3 months of gathering votes from readers of SmartTravelAsia.com, a popular online travel magazine with over a million reader across the globe, the Sofitel Legend Metropole ${bigcity_Hanoi:"Hanoi"} and the Nam Hai in ${bigcity_Hoi_An:"Hoi An"} came out on top in the Asia’s best leisure properties for 2011 poll. Following the 2 Vietnamese properties are the Peninsula in Hong Kong and the Amandari in Bali. With the Caravelle Hotel in ${bigcity_Ho_Chi_Minh_City:”Ho Chi Minh City”} claiming the 23rd spot on the list of top business hotels in Asia, a total of six Vietnamese properties were included in the poll’s list, others among which are Park Hyatt Saigon, the Furama Resort ${bigcity_Da_Nang:"Da Nang"} and Princess d’Annam Resort and Spa.

But that’s not all, apart from topping the Asia’s Top Leisure Hotel and Resort category, voters also ranked the Metropole 18th on the list of Asia’s Top 25 Business Hotels and 8th among Asia’s Top 25 Conference Hotels. The Nam Hai was also voted as one of Asia’s three Top Spa Hotels and Resorts.

According to Vijay Verghese, Editor and director of Smart Travel Asia, “There is a certain innocence about Vietnam that is hard to find elsewhere in Asia,” he says, “this is what discerning travelers seek today.” Indeed, Vietnam possesses unique qualities that fuse beautifully and never fail to amaze anyone who comes for a visit.

From travelers’ experience, Vietnam offers very rich history. The interesting food is another inviting factor why many would want to visit the country. And with its long unspoiled coastline coupled with several beautiful scenery and centuries-old structures, many believe it is one of the most romantic destinations. The friendliness and hospitality of the Vietnamese people makes every visit pleasant, making tourists want to plan for a second visit.
