Quang Binh: A New Adventure

Quang Binh: A New Adventure

For people who love adventure, the Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park just launched not one, but two new tours to satisfy all the thrill-seeking needs of its clients. Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park is known as the “kingdom of caves.” It has been popular since the 1920s because of its cave systems. At present, it holds several world records, including the “largest cave system” and the “area with the highest number of underground systems.”

For the nature lovers, the Rao Thuong River and Swallows Cave (En Cave) is a whole new world to discover. For those who want a little bit of mystery, explore the 1500-meter deep wonder of the Phong Nha Cave.

The Rao Thuong River and Swallows Cave tour costs about US$280. The package includes a two-day, one-night stay for guests to fully explore and enjoy the forest, the green Rao Thuong River itself, and more than 300 caves. At an additional $30 cost, visitors will have the chance to experience the life and culture of the Bru-Van Kieu ethnic group. The special tour takes about three hours on a 1,500 meter underground river canoe ride. To assure the safety of the guests, each of them will be equipped with a life jacket, and each tour is accompanied by a lifeguard.

The Phong Nha Cave tour, along with its existing package, will be offering trekking tours soon in celebration as well of the National Tourism Month on June. Both tours are part of Quang Binh Culture and Tourism Week 2012 and the 2012 National Tourism Year for the northern central region.

The government hopes that the new adventure tours will strengthen the tourism in Quang Binh Province.
