Saudi Airlines Cargo Flies to Vietnam

Starting May 16, Saudi Airlines Cargo will fly to Vietnam. The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam has approved Saudi Arabia’s cargo carrier to launch flights to Ho Chi Minh City, the country’s capital.

Saudi Airlines Cargo is scheduled to fly to ${bigcity_Ho_Chi_Minh_City:”Ho Chi Minh City”} three times per week. The Cargo MD11 is the aircraft to be used, which has a capacity of 80 tons.
For the past few years, Vietnam’s aviation market has increased to a double-digit growth. Air freight cargo in the country experienced a 30% rise last year, equivalent to 460,000 tons. Cargo carriers to and from Vietnam handled 113,000 tons of goods in the first quarter. That's an 11% increase from the same period last year.

According to the International Air Transport Association, Vietnam will be among the top three fastest growing international freight markets by 2014, along with Hong Kong and China.

Saudi Airlines Cargo will be the second Middle East carrier flying to Vietnam. Qatar Airways is the pioneering Middle East carrier to penetrate the country, flying 11 times per week between Vietnam and Doha. Saudi Airlines Cargo operates 9 freighters. It has a 125 -“belly-capacity” passenger seat airplane courtesy of Saudi Arabia Airlines, which is also expanding globally, flying to 85 online destinations currently.
