In a survey conducted by Conde Nast Traveler (US) to its close to 80,000 readers, Hoi An was voted as the next best city in Asia. The 1.3 million votes altogether collected for the 16,000 different properties nominated by the world-renowned luxury travel magazine were based on culture, friendliness, atmosphere, restaurants, lodging and shopping.

During the announcement of the survey results in New York on October 15, Conde Nast Traveler also recognized several Vietnamese hotels and resorts in the list of its ideal destinations including the Sofitel Legend Metropole in Ha Noi, Park Hyatt Saigon, Sofitel Plaza Hanoi, and Sofitel Saigon Plaza. Another Conde Nast Traveler survey also included the city’s Nam Hai resort among the top ten resorts in Asia. The annual travel survey first launched in 1988 and is today’s most appreciated survey in the global tourism industry.
