Vietnam Bags 4 Spots in Top 25 Asian Destinations List

Vietnam dominated the most recent list populated by Trip Advisor citing the best Asian destinations for 2013, with four of its localities occupying competitive spots. Its annual awarding ceremony, now on its fifth since it started, was held on the 18th of June at Post Bar, Fullerton Hotel in Singapore.

Along with His Excellency, Marut Jitpatima, Thai Ambassador to Singapore as the event’s Guest of Honour, the awards given away by Trip Advisor’s Senior Vice President of Global Advertising, Robin Ingle. Ha Noi, the country’s capital, ranked 14 in the list followed by Ho Chi Minh City at the 15th spot. Also known as Saigon, Ho Chi Minh is the throbbing commercial and economical center of Vietnam.

Its bustling streets, delectable cuisine and attractive landmarks never fail to give tourists the real touch of Vietnam. The ancient town of Hoi An tagged 2 places behind at 17th. Ha Long, the world famous bay in the northern province of Quang Ninh, occupied the 25th spot. Awards were also given to other recognized destinations from other lists populated on other regions including Africa, Australia, the Caribbean, Central America, China, Europe, India, Mexico, the Middle East, South America, the South Pacific, and the United States.

Overall, the awards recognized 412 outstanding destinations in 38 markets across the globe. According to the popular travel site, the selection was based on the reviews and opinions of millions of TripAdvisor travelers where winners were determined based on the popularity of destinations, taking into account travelers’ favorites and most highly rated places. No less than Ms. Ingle spoke about how impressive Vietnam is performing in the tourist scene. “Vietnam is now highly attractive to many international tourists,” said Ingle in an interview. Bangkok topped the list followed by Tokyo and Beijing.
