Vit Co Xanh Eco-Tourism Area: Nature & Culture in One

If you're into nature tripping when you're travelling wherein you just want to relax and breathe into fresh air to escape from the busy and congested city life even for just a while, Vit Co Xanh Eco-Tourism Area in Cu Yen Commune, Luong Son District, Hoa Binh Province offers even more than that. The establishment offers its guests a taste of culture by giving them the unique opportunity to learn about the simple but interesting life and traditions of the Muong ethnic people.

About 45 minutes or an hour away from Hanoi, the eco-tourism area is composed of an immense 25 hectares surrounded by a complex of an even more incredible 100 hectares of forests, mountains, hills, tea trees and lakes. It is owned by An Tran Chassedieu and her husband who developed the place in 2004 in their passion for green-tourism and desire to preserve the culture and traditions of the Muong ethnic group. An Tran is Vietnamese and her husband is French. So Vit Co Xanh Eco-Tourism Area is also a result of the couple's love for both their homelands, Vietnam and France. In fact, the place is called as such because according to An, the image of ducks represents Vietnam while the peaceful landscape reminds her of France.

Vit Co Xanh Eco-Tourism Area is indeed a beautiful blend of both countries, with Phong Lan Building in the middle of the complex representing the harmonious merge, showcasing both Vietnamese architecture in stilt-houses and French style similar to the houses in Cote D' Azur in the Southern region. Moreover, 12 country-style seats are scattered all over the hillsides, gardens, and Dap Dom Lake of the area for tourists to rest in and just bask in the overwhelming beauty of the place.

The owners have truly taken advantage of the area's good natural conditions by not only appreaciating but in fact developing the place into something not only them but in fact everyone in the whole world can enjoy. Aside from creating beautiful landscapes from the nature-given streams, lakes, hills, forests and mountains, the couple especially has made it a priority to preserve the culture of the Muong people through its habits, customs, and even cuisine. In fact, the area offers a mountain market trip and spa services to its guests with the latter using the traditional methods of the Muong.

With its sincere combination of green eco-tourism and culture appreciation of the Muong ethnic people, it's no wonder that Vit Co Xanh Eco-Tourism Area has become a favorite destination in Hoa Binh Province, a therapeutic place wherein visitors can not only have a restful time away from their hectic city life, but in fact gain a deeper, meaningful experience by incorporating cultural learning into their trip.
